To get to where we want to be,
We’re taught best be persistent.

But relentless pursuance has a way,
To make us feel petulant.

When you see a sign screaming “let it go”,
Remember to stop being insistent.

Your life’s purpose is not being taken away,
It’s just a lesson in detachment.

Nothing that’s yours will come your way,
Till you stop being intransigent.

One day you’ll have what is rightfully yours,
Until then, just be diligent.
